Pablo's Vice
Editorial
Tucked away as it is just behind the boisterous end of Oxford Street, Pablo's Vice is a very naughty but nice escape from all the raucous ruckus. Painted pillar box red like a lady of ill repute, Pablo's diminutive size belies a powerhouse of caffeine super powers.
Sunken below street level the take away window allows a narrow perch to plonk yourself at wonky-angled tables on the pavement while ordering up a tasty caffeine hit. The staff are quirky to the max and offer plenty of chat with your coffee. The menu, while small and simple, is invitingly tasty for a catch up breakfast with mates or a quick bite to eat on the hop at lunch, but really it's all about the coffee.
The Surry Hills set demand something a bit out of the ordinary, and the baristas here certainly know how to serve up a coffee of rare goodness. Pablo's was recently voted one of Time Out's favourite Sydney haunts, and it's no surprise as they whip up Numero Uno coffee into perfect shape, demonstrating a remarkable consistency and dreamy flavour every time. The joint attracts an eclectic bunch of locals and provides a wonderful hub from which to explore the racier side of Sydney.
