Too often Vietnamese eateries are brightly light places with the fit-out based on practicality rather than aesthetics. So, it’s nice when your local puts some more effort into it. This is the case with Non La. This pleasant little restaurant with its large front window and causal but modern feel is a favourite with Surry Hills folks. This is a traditional Vietnamese food with some outstanding dishes. The pork and prawn pancake is a must have as is the pho. The salads are also highly recommended – all are beautifully fresh with well-balanced flavours. Be prepared to pay slightly more than your average Vietnamese restaurant.
