Hotel Clarendon
Editorial
The grand ol' Hotel Clarendon is a happening place with a range of venues within. The dining area offers an up-market alfresco feel with simple meals like nachos, burgers and 250gm rump steak with chips and salad for just $10.
The bar downstairs has an accessible, everyday vibe with loads of beers on tap. Out of towners might be re-assured that Coopers Pale Ale and Cascade Premium Light are available along with the usual NSW selection of amber fluid.
The courtyard offers a bit of respite from the sometimes noisy bar and upstairs there's an area with lots of space for kids to run around if need be. Sunday roast is a bargain - $10 again, and the extensive wine-list can make this a very pleasurable afternoon without having to do a thing!
Pool tables and plasma screens delivering sport make it a popular place, but there is also room to get away if you want to be far from the maddening crowd. The fact that the Hotel Clarendon is a local meeting point for the Deep Sea fishing club and the Tango dancers means there is always something going on - whatever suits your fancy.
Some classic house cocktails for a late night tipple are sure to give you wings. How about a classic Sex on the Beach? Or Honey Basil Martini with honey syrup, fresh basil, muddled with 42 Below Honey Vodka, topped with pink grapefruit juice? More please.
