It’s all about tacos, tortilla and tequila at El Loco, positioned in the heart of Surry Hills, along with a million of Sydney’s other most funky destinations. This one however, has an edge that’s hard to beat. El Loco is part of the Merivale stable, owned by Justin Hemmes of everything-fabulous-fame. Get in early to get a seat in this former factory space turned mexicana cantina that is decorated with a blaze of colourful classroom kitsch. Mexican tastes are fused with Asian ingredients thanks to the handy work of Chef Dan Hong. Tacos start at just $5 but don’t think they slouch on quality - it’s all really good stuff.
