This smart up-market cafe is the place to be seen while lingering over breakfast. Grab a table outside in the sun, and watch Sydney's beautiful people parade by.

Editorial

In spite of its proximity to Kings Cross, Potts Point has a very village-like atmosphere that is lived out day to day in the suburb’s multitude of cafes and restaurants. Zinc is no exception with a large local following that catch-up over a morning coffee, a bite to eat at lunch, or a long, relaxed dinner.

Breakfast is served until midday on weekdays and until 3.00pm on weekends. Start the day with a vanilla cinnamon porridge served with poached fruit, or the organic fruit toast. If it’s a hang-over you’re curing, opt for the sausage sandwich: served on delicious sourdough with a red-pepper relish. Lunch features a variety of healthy salads, such as the spinach and pumpkin salad with goat’s milk fetta and croutons, or the hot-smoked trout salad with baby beetroot, fried capers, and aioli. Sandwiches are available on baguette or ciabatta, with an assortment of fillings that ensures there is something for all tastes. Dinner presents more refined dining, with a delicious selection of modern Australian delicacies. Sample the crab risotto with peas and tomato, available as either an entree or a main. Grilled marinated backstrap is a more filling option, served with potato hash and harissa.
