So everyone has their favourite dumpling house and it seems, for more than a few, Hong Fu is up there with the best. The décor is a little on the plain side, but that doesn’t stop the fans travelling to sample their authentic Northern Chinese cuisine. The dumplings are plump and juicy morsels filled with pork and pickled cabbage or pork and garlic chive and they can be enjoyed in spicy soup or sauce, fried or simply steamed. Other ‘must haves’ are their beautifully fresh noodle dishes and the shallot pancake. Be warned this is far from five star service.
