Favourite local haunt for punters who have no time for pretension.

Editorial

Every suburb needs a pub like the Paddo Arms at The Saint. A down-to-earth hotel that welcomes all. As soon as you walk in, you know what you're in for. Although the renovations have created a slightly upmarket feel, it's a simple non-pretentious fit-out. Black stools at the front window make for excellent people watching and elsewhere low wooden tables with banquettes provide a relaxed way to wind down from the day. Neutral colours also add to the spacious and comfortable vibe.

If you had to pin down what sort of crowd frequents the Paddington Arms, you'd be hard pressed. The young drink alongside the not-so-young, and you're just as likely to find groups of chardonnay-sipping women as you are beer-swilling blokes. It's an electric crowd to be sure but harmony reigns supreme.

For a big night out, head to the upstairs lounge and bar. Leather couches and dim lighting provide an intimate space perfect for couples and would-be couples. Live bands also feature on a Thursday.

During the week locals line up for Wednesday's trivia night, and good range of DJs pick the energy up on the weekends.

The bistro does a vibrant trade with superb pub grub such as parmas and pastas.
