Standing on one of the apexes of Five Ways in Paddington is a two-storey heritage Victorian house which, you’ll find as you step inside, is home to a tasty Thai restaurant. The cuisine provided here, however, takes on a contemporary adaptation on Thai food. Phuket crab curry, which consists of crab meat stir fried with chilli jam, curry, egg, pineapple and green vegetables, is one of the house specialities but before you order away, you simply have to try a betel leaf entree. Topped with prawns, pineapple and aromatics, you will marvel at how much flavour can be stuffed into one mouthful. Another fun dish to try is the salt and pepper chicken popcorn. For dessert, choose the authentic black sticky rice with fresh fruit and palm sugar sauce or their favourite, Bon Viand - a flourless hazelnut base with a rich chocolate mousse filling served with ice-cream. Breakfast is a more traditional affair; try the chunky bacon, potato and mushroom hash with two poached eggs for a kick-start to your day.

The upstairs function room can host an 80 person cocktail party or a sit down dinner for 36. From there, a Juliet balcony overlooking the street provides stunning views of the harbour. The staff at Eat Thai are fully equipped to organise sound systems, screens, flowers and balloons explaining that you are only limited by your imagination. So whether you need a Thai fix with a twist or a place to hold a private party with winning food and style, all you need to know is Eat Thai at Five Ways.
