Keepin’ it real at the Captain Cook - a true blue Aussie pub.

Editorial

Looking for an authentic Aussie pub experience? It doesn't get more real than the Captain Cook Hotel. This pub has seen better days, and although a bit run-down, is still charming in its own gritty way. No gentrified shiny stainless steel or white marble décor in sight - this is your down-home neighborhood pub with no pretentions of being anything else.

Throw in cheap beer and great food, plus the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and Aussie Stadium right next door, and you've got a second home for sports lovers.

There's a multitude of beers on tap including all time Aussie favorites VB, Cascade and Coopers. And if you get peckish, food at the Captain Cook Brasserie is honest pub fare including pizza, pasta and high quality steak for around $10 on Mondays and Wednesdays - prices outrageously cheap for Sydney, or for anywhere else for that matter.

Thursday nights is $10 pizza night, including a poker competition with prizes - all special meal deals come with a 'no worries, no conditions' true blue promise. And to take the edge off the working week, don't miss the 3-hour long Happy Hour on Fridays from 4pm till 7pm.

If you've had too much of a good time carousing, and you can't find your way home after a long night, you can crash at the reasonably priced hostel upstairs.
