For more than four decades, the Maltese Café in Crown Street served up tasty, dirt cheap carbs to Sydney puss and all her kittens. When the joint closed, nobody was happy save for Aitkin’s dieters. Then, Lenny Ferro, nephew of the hard baking boys of Surry Hills, restored the family magic. Thank goodness. This ongoing culinary tradition is as crunchy as ever.
