Ainoya Japanese Restaurant
Editorial
The sushi and sashimi are carefully prepared, salmon and tuna featuring alongside mixed platters and a variety of "rolls" including the salmon and avocado, dragon (made with eel maki), and tuna negi-toro (rolled with chopped spring onions). There is a variety of salads and sides to help temper the oiliness of the raw fish; try the daikon or seaweed salads. Main courses include teriyaki chicken, tempura, or tori nanban: fried chicken marinated in sweet and sour sauce served with tartare sauce. The real culinary gems are hidden in the blackboard menu. Try dishes such as roast duck with shredded green mango and vegetables, or the soft shell crab karaage (deep fried soft-shell crab).
The wine list is brief yet well matched to the cuisine and BYO is available for bottled wines.

Have been to Ainoya a few times and each time it is excellent food and pleasant service. Nice fresh sashimi, the soft shell crab is excellent and the waygu beef is so tender. Being off the main road it tends to only get those who know about it. Great value
