Zachary's Gourmet Pizza Bar
Editorial
Designer people eating designer pizzas is what Zachary's is all about. Fashionistas who would rather spend money on looking good than being seen at the most expensive restaurants strut their way into Zachary's which has a terrific menu with lots of scope for big groups. The stylish lounge area is very accommodating for those who wish to perch with a drink as they meet up with friends. Long wooden benches run the stretch of the dining room with bamboo curtains, vines and faux colourful flowers draping the walls. The fairy lights in the trees outside also bring a little charm into the restaurant.
Every Thursday is “All You Can Eat” for $20 and includes dips, pizzas, chicken wings, salads and to wash it all down, a glass of wine and beer. It's pretty good value, even for nibblers who still want to fit into their skinny jeans. Whether it's named after the region or Jude Law's ex-girlfriend, the Siena is a hot pizza option with ham, chorizo sausage, mushrooms, onion and a splash of garlic olive oil. The most popular pizza is the Michelangelo which comes with chicken breast, Spanish onion and sun-dried tomato topped with roasted pine nuts and seeded mustard aioli. While the pizzas are probably the best in the Cross, many people return purely for their house infused vodkas. Redskin is the favourite but other flavours include Hubba Bubba, Fruit Tingles and Big Red Cinnamon and are often swigged in place of dessert. Food is served all night until close which is 3am on Friday and Saturday nights.
