Of all the new hip trends in food over the last decade, the most welcome has to be the onslaught of artisanal bakeries. While it is doing nothing for our waist-lines, beautifully made bread is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Sonoma is deadly serious about their loaves and judging by the restaurants that serve their product – Tetsuya’s, Bennelong and Quay to name a few, their dedication has not gone unnoticed. Their range includes polenta, kalamata olive and walnut and raison, there is also a good variety for the wheat sensitive. Their cafes serve up wonderful gourmet sandwiches.
