Cherrijam
Editorial
Inside, Cherrijam is lush, sexy and as fulsome as the red fruit for which it's named, with luxurious antique lounges, plush fabrics and what seems to be more chandeliers than Buckingham Palace. The dining area consists of cushioned booths, high-backed chairs and linen-clad tables. Cherrijam's open-plan means you'll still hear the music at full ball while you're having dinner. Thursday nights features a jazz pianist if you require something a little more subdued. Weekends usually offer a funky blend of thumping house music with live trumpet and percussion.
There's a full dinner menu if you arrive at a reasonable hour. Oven roasted scallops with hazelnut butter, and gruyere and thyme souffle are among the entrees. For mains, choices include chermoula crusted salmon with caponata and saffron mayonnaise. The supper menu is a condensed list of quick eats with class. Chilli-salt chicken with harissa and lemon, fried squid with aioli, and crispy pork belly salad are among the late-night offerings.
