Located in the heart of Sydney (Darlinghurst), Bar Reggio is undoubtedly the peoples choice for great food and affordable prices.

Editorial

Bar Reggio's Italian-born staff have continually satisfied customers with generous servings of traditional Italian and modern Australian cuisine for over 20 years. Comparatively, it's a large and busy inner-city noshery and this is tribute to Reggio's culinary popularity among knowing locals and others. The dimmed lighting and rustic wall finishings decorated with hand-painted frescos of Italian provincial scenery complete Reggio's warm and homely Italian ambience, wonderfully complementing the meals' fresh and substantial servings. Whether eating inside or in the outdoor courtyard, the restaurant has a fun, friendly, family atmosphere favourable to chatting with groups of friends.

The sizzling gourmet pizza selection features the bacon and egg Australiana, and a local suburb special named Palmer Street with pineapple, pepperoni, onion, chilli and mushrooms is certain to please anybody caught by those unavoidable cravings. A daily specials menu will delight a more discerning diner, sporting dishes such as a scrumptious whole grilled barramundi. The calves liver with onion and bacon sauce is a popular traditional Venetian classic, while an Aussie special, the kangaroo fillet, lightly sauteed in a porcini and port wine sauce, is heavenly, leaving one wondering why beef is more common. There's a full seafood menu and quality mains ranging from a pollo Milanese to barbecued quail and an equally fine selection of risottos. For that lunchtime meeting, the fantastically priced focaccias are a pleasant surprise. In every meal you'll find something tasty, filling and fresh and at a very reasonable price. If you like to eat abundantly in a relaxed environment, Reggio's is the sort of restaurant that you'll want to come back to.

The best marinara pasta I have ever. The food is always great. Fantastic buzz and amazingly good value. Once you've been this will become a regular favourite!
