Castle Hill RSL Club
Editorial
Located in the Hills District of North West Sydney, Castle Hill RSL is a sprawling mega-RSL with an incredibly progressive and modern bent. They've come a long way from 1936 when the club was an illegal speakeasy, literally a hole dug in the ground by ex-servicemen under the local Anzac Memorial Hall, known locally as 'The Dugout'.
Dining and drinking of course is a staple of any RSL; there's the Courtyard Restaurant, Courtyard Café and the new Rib Factory with a focus on truly Australian-themed grilled meat-lovers delights. With hearty fare like this, make sure you turn up with an empty stomach.
For drinking, you have the newly renovated RSL Sports Bar with the TAB and a dedicated pool table area. If you want something more upmarket, head to the Terrace Bar with private booths, free live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. There's also the sophisticated Cocktail Lounge on level one with art deco interiors, cosy throw pillows and booths for intimate gatherings. You can be sure those pioneering, hole-digging RSL veterans never dreamed of luxury like this.
There's a huge variety of entertainment all week long, including live bands, shows, live jazz, bingo, meat raffles, a Wine Club and open Australian Poker League poker games for all comers.
