Bondi Social
Editorial
Enter at ground level, take a short trip upstairs in the lift and you've arrived at Bondi Social, a breezy bar and restaurant that perfectly sums up the summery lifestyle of the nearby iconic beach all year round.
While dining tables inside are aplenty, the balcony's clearly where it's at. Wrapped in hip-height glass panels, the panoramic beach vista melds seamlessly with the first floor space, while passers by below heading out on the town offer an animated backdrop to meals. Sizeable tapas-inspired plates come with a modern Australian twist. Start with the twice-cooked lamb, shredded and mixed through al dente cous cous and sweet chopped dates, then topped with a romesco sauce of blended capsicum and almonds. Pair it with the citrusy haloumi salad, a combination of grilled slices of the gooey cheese plus diced green olives, orange segments and rocket leaves. Grilled fillet of salmon served atop a warm salad of capers, semi-dried tomatoes and earthy eggplant recalls both the seaside location and Mediterranean après-beach vibe.
The social side of things is further encouraged with a solid selection of meal and drinks specials, from the '$4 at 4pm' tapas plates deal earlier in the week to the very happy happy hour that runs for three hours straight daily. All the more reason to get down to Bondi and get a-minglin'.
