Passion runs hot for Blue Ginger; a neighbourhood joint that is avowedly and competently pan-Asian in its culinary influence. While love for this place is strong, the flavours on offer are not always so. This place, make no mistake, caters to a cautious western palate. It does so well; the execution of much of the food is to be commended. However, if it’s authenticity you seek, go west to Campsie. A great part of this place’s lure inheres in its airy space and bourgeois-groovy interior. And, the flavours, however timid, are something of a relief in a strip that offers café after café.
