In recent years, Ashfield has begun to vie with the Dixon Street precinct for the title of Chinatown proper. For both grocery shopping and the more immediate pleasure of diving into China’s regional cuisines, this suburb proves its worth. The T of S is one more creditable establishment offering the more subtly flavoured foods from the Yangtze delta along, of course, with xiao long bao, Or Shanghai’s soup dumplings. Expect also some Sichuan flavour.
