But tHE "For Sale" sign will be posted on the Annandale Hotel tomorrow with the owners hoping to find investors to keep their live music dream alive. As reported in The Daily Telegraph owners Matt and Dan Rule, who put bands back into the 'Dale a decade ago, also want to expand the hotel's restaurant to accommodate their successful Pub Cha concept.
Sydney's music fans are still mourning the loss of the Hopetoun Hotel in 2009, while intimate showcase club Raval shut its doors last week to become a microbrewery. Justin Hemmes also announced he will redevelop his Tank nightclub into a restaurant. But the Rule brothers are confident they will find an investor who will keep the hotel's door open to bands. They have spent a small fortune on securing approved DAs for redevelopment of the pub to turn it into a hospitality and entertainment hub. Watch this space, hey?
