Emperor Court Chinese Restaurant
Editorial
Emperor Court Chinese Restaurant in Yarralumla is undoubtedly one of the longest running establishments in the Inner South. Celebrating more than 30 years in business, it is the kind of restaurant that allows its reputation to do the talking - customers don't come back again and again for no reason. Emperor Court is obviously a favourite of many Inner South families, however convenient parking and access to the Yarralumla shops means that it also attracts many diners from further afield. It can cater for up to 100 people, making it an ideal choice for a large family gathering.
The menu at Emperor Court Chinese includes a huge range of Anglo-Chinese dishes well-known by generations of Australians, as well as more authentic choices. This means that less adventurous diners who want to stick with what they know can be happy with familiar choices such as lemon chicken, Mongolian lamb or sweet and sour pork. On the other hand, those diners who are not afraid of spice or a bit of chilli will be satisfied with choices such as steamed flounder with ginger and shallot or chicken, bean curd and salted fish hotpot. The menu is also ideal for Friday night takeaway and the restaurant offers a delivery service seven nights a week. In addition, there are take-away lunch boxes on offer from Monday to Friday and a choice of well-priced special packs available anytime. All in all, the environment and food choices at Emperor Court Chinese Restaurant make this restaurant an equally good choice for a meal with children as for a relaxed adults' evening with a good bottle of wine.
