Pendo's Pool Room
Editorial
Be honest; when you first watched The Colour of Money, starring Tom Cruise and his dad, you dreamed of being a hustler. No, not the street kind; the suave, pool hall sort, with the dashing grin and shark-like reflexes. Well all your dreams can come true at Pendo's Pool Room. A fitting tribute to the pool halls of days gone by (minus the triad and Russian mafia presence), Pendo's is more a palace of entertainment than a place to get sharked.
Essentially a large hall with wall prints of famous actors or billiards players, Pendo's can't help but be that place you go when you're single, want to hit some balls, drive a virtual rally car or slam a few beers. Of course, you don't have to be single to come here, but there aren't many people about who get off on watching their boy or girlfriend play Sega Rally or another winning round of pool. Want something more social? Does the word ?karaoke' mean anything to you?
Of course, nothing gets those pipes ready to sound better than a nice boutique beer (you don't have to drink cheap draught to look the part here) or an, umm, unexpected cocktail - like the bastard cousin of the Shirley Temple; the Fruit Tingle (sometimes known as a Harpic Heaven), made from vodka, blue curacao and lemonade. Of course, your regular favourites (cosmo, long island iced tea, caprioska etc) all get a belting, especially during happy hour. Just remember to drop that pool stick before downing your drink.
