Malaysian cuisine could be likened to comfort food Asian style. It’s hearty, robust of flavour and makes you feel as if everything is right in the world. It’s no wonder Canberra has embraced it so. Mamak Corner is a second home for many locals. Couples, families and groups pile in for their famous laksa, Penang char kway teow and beef rendang. While all the traditional Malaysian staples are present there are also some Chinese options too such as Hainanese chicken rice and hot rock salted calamari. The décor won’t win any awards, but the service is friendly and the prices cheap.
