This popular Chinese restaurant holds its own in Canberra's little Chinatown, serving delicious Chinese favourites that are full of flavour.

Editorial

In Canberra, Dickson is the place to go to satisfy cravings for the flavours of the Orient and it's here you'll find Jimmy's Place - one of the better Chinese restaurants to be found in little Chinatown. From the outside it's hard to distinguish from the other restaurants on the strip, but the dining room is pleasantly decorated with a red, yellow and blue colour scheme and a huge Chinese painting on the back wall. People don't come to Jimmy's for the decor, however - at Jimmy's it's all about the food.
The menu is extensive and all the usual favourites are done with flair and full flavour. For entree try the seafood mixed entree with fried king prawn, scallop, squid and fish or perhaps one of the soup options. For mains the shredded squid with spicy pepper salt is a good bet, as is the barbecue pork with plum sauce. The spicy Szechwan beef will leave flavours on your tongue reminiscent of dragons dancing in the street. There is also a variety of laksa, noodle and rice dishes available like the chicken chow mein and the minced beef fried rice. Jimmy's also offers take-away and special family packs containing a combination of entree, main and rice dishes.
