Binara One

Slick, professional and stylish, it is no wonder why Binara One lounge in the Crowne Plaza Hotel is well known amongst Canberra’s professional crowd.

Editorial

Despite the fact that this bar offers a large degree of privacy with its entrance and patio cleverly hidden by foliage and a raised level, it is in no way a shrinking violet. Instead, this is a venue that has a confident feel, exceptionally well-trained staff and the reputation of an excellent hotel chain behind it.

With the concept of the lounge bar often woefully ambiguous, it pays to spell out the range of experiences available here. Perhaps the best known moment of Binara One’s week is Friday afternoon when patrons come to mix and mingle over casual drinks and small plates. They relax along its impressive bar and inviting couches to enjoy the excellent drink specials of happy hour. But by no means is this where the appeal of Binara One ends.

First off is the all-day menu which consists of an impressive selection of dishes to share and more substantial eats. From salt and pepper soft-shell crab with ponzu sauce, to the very cute ‘Three Mini Burgers all Sitting in a Row’ - the dishes go far beyond your expectations of hotel bar food. In addition, it offers a competitively priced selection of restaurant quality meals that are a step above predictable lunch possibilities, making them perfect for a casual business lunch or leisurely solo meal. As well as the range of mains available, the three course light lunch will certainly attract the attention of many. This menu, which allows diners to create their own multi-course meal from a wide range of dishes, is yet another example of what makes Binara One stand out against other predictable hotel lounges.
