Republic Restaurant
Editorial
With bright blue, red and yellow tones, the Republic in Civic offers the perfect antidote to a stressful day, and provides welcome relief for those in search of a much needed caffeine boost. This is a venue that started off life as a fine-dining establishment, and whilst the fanfare and stuffiness has long gone, the importance placed on the fine treatment of fresh food remains.
For those who start their day with an early morning swim at the nearby pool, or who simply head to work bright and early, this venue is a blessing that serves early morning breakfasts that beat any office-cooped cereal. Be it a dignified sit-down breakfast or a quick coffee to go, the buzzing atmosphere and friendly service here ensures all customers start the day on a good note.
Once the morning meetings have come and gone and appetites start to grow, the crowd comes for the lunch menu that they have voted for with their stomachs, so to speak. They continuously return for their favourites and protest if these dishes are removed from the menu. From morning-baked baguettes, lavish pita wraps, and fresh salads; classic Australian fare and international dishes make the short lunch break a tasty delight. Hokkein noodles, chicken and semi-dried tomato risotto, and freshly made fish and chips satisfy everyone from the secretary to the CEO. And one glimpse of the cake cabinet illustrates why the Republic is also the corporate caterer of choice for delectable treats and special occasions, with its sweets that tempt even the most diet-conscious employees.
The Republic is a little ray of sunshine in what can sometimes be a gloomy working day.
