North Bar
Editorial
North Bar is one of the most visually striking venues you're going to find in the nation's capital.
Built around a minimalist design aesthetic, it's brought to life by elaborate lighting rigs. Basically, the white-on-white decor is flooded with pinks and greens - the lighting creating layers and depth.
In a city better know for its quaint locals or bureaucrat haunts, the ultra-modern North Bar is actually a nice change of pace. It's also a favourite for those with a powerful lust for cocktails. Maybe it's the fit-out and the pink colour scheme, but North Bar isn't really a beer-drinking venue. Sure, you can order a beer, but the place prides itself on cocktails and infused vodkas - Redskin, Gummy Bear and Mars Bar flavours being the house specialities.
Cocktail in hand, you can either head to the dancefloor or pull up a seat in the lounge. Like the main bar, the use of lighting plays a pivotal role in creating atmosphere out in the lounge - the burgundy booth seats offset with green lighting from below. Basically, if you're looking for a sleek, cosmopolitan bar where you can drink infused vodkas and dance to house music, North Bar is your venue.
