As the name implies, Muddle Bar is all about smooth cocktails and even smoother sounds.

Editorial

While you may never think of Canberra as a cultural swell, there are some things about our city that make it worth a closer look. Muddle Bar, just off London Circuit, really is a world away from the political thrum outside. Weaving a rich tapestry of stylish decor (painted in earthy tones of browns and greens) with a sizable list of unique cocktails, this bar caters to a crowd who demand a little sophistication from their beverages.

The cocktail list at Muddle is quite something. While you'll find all the usual favourites and classics, the small tome also contains the bar's more noticeable concoctions. Like the Muddle bar bellini; with 180-year-old cognac, it serves four for a measly $200. Of course, you don't have to be Daddy Warbucks to enjoy yourself here. Most cocktails come in under the $15 mark, meaning anyone with a beer wallet can enjoy the occasional Roll in the Hay or black forest martini.

Champagne also comes in at varying degrees of bank account-draining potential - from $30 for a glass of Moet, to a nice Taltarni sparkling for under $10. Wines are also reasonably priced, with most bottles for around $50 or less. There are also a few cheaply priced snacks, including a nice cheese board to end your evening on a civil note.
