Holy Grail
Editorial
It's said that King Arthur and his men were on a quest for the Holy Grail. Some believe this to be an actually grail, a cup which bestows eternal life on those who drink from it. Others prefer to believe the Holy Grail is a metaphor for living life to the fullest. Lucky for us that such a quest need go no further than Canberra's own Holy Grail. In fact, we have two! But today we're concerned with the Grail of Akuna and Bunda street fame. Fans flock for live music and DJs, while the rest of us are more concerned with the impressive drink selection.
The first that that strikes you when you walk through the doors is the large bar - a massive fridge, which basically takes up one wall of the building. Not only are there a plethora of beer taps dispensing all manner of domestic and imported beers, but the rear wall of the bar is akin to a supermarket refrigerator stocked with every other beer not offered on tap. It's truly remarkable. It's also understandable to get carried away and order anything that grabs your eyes. Just check the price first, as those imported buggers can really get away on your wallet or purse.
There's also a pretty decent menu, serving a range of pizzas, pastas, burgers and more, all promising to sate that hunger weighing on your shoulders.

I was given a drinks menu that clearly stated prices, I ordered a mini cocktail after I was shown the glass size. After I had paid I realised that I was overcharged by $10 and when I confronted the bar staff about it I was told that the prices listed on the menu were wrong, and then the story changed and I was told that the bar girl had poured the wrong amount of alcohol in the cocktail so I was charged the full price, without my knowledge of the mistake as the glass size was the same. When I argued my case that it was only fair that I was charged what I had actually ordered I was told by the girls that it wasn't their fault that I couldn't afford a drink and I had already finished the drink so tough luck. After speaking with the manager I was given my money back, but received no apology as even he disagreed with me saying 'well you did drink it didn't you? I have never been so offended and shocked by so called 'hospitality' and I will not be going back there.
