Flint
Editorial
Flint may be located a few blocks from Canberra's new business district, but this bar and restaurant is all about old-world charm. Housed in a refurbished heritage building from the '20s, the exterior boasts a rustic charm that's carried on throughout the venue. While the restaurant is the central focus, Flint also boasts a separate bar area and two outdoor terraces. Whether you're there to wine or dine, the interior is a mix of traditional and contemporary design influences; marble surfaces, polished wood, leather upholstery, beige and chocolate-coloured schemes - all very nice. Meanwhile, the bar area features a selection of plush couches that can swallow you whole.
There's a full cocktail menu on offer at Flint and the classics are all around the $14-$15 mark. Alternatively, you can go with an imported beer, choose from the wide selection of spirits or opt for one of the many wines they stock. Either way, the outdoor terraces provide a great dining ambiance and the wood-fired oven offers simple but delicious meals. Afterwards, the bar is perfect for a nightcap or two.
