Cube Nightclub
Editorial
Established in 2002, Cube in Canberra's premier gay and lesbian venue. Located underneath Antigo's restaurant, it combines sleek and modern decor with an unabashed campness. As out and proud a venue as you're ever going to find, it offers a friendly, (almost) anything goes atmosphere on weekends with a roster of local and interstate DJs Friday through to Sunday. Weekdays are much tamer with a mixed crowd enjoying the cocktails and lounge soundtrack.
Although the usual mix of beers and wines are on offer, cocktails dominate the drinks menu. Whether you're talking classics or the in-house specials, Cube has a varied and reasonably priced selection on offer. While the midweek crowd are all about Martinis, Fridays tend to see a spike in Slow Comfortable Screws Against the Wall with a Kiss (aka Ursus Sloe Vodka, Southern Comfort, Galliano and orange juice with an Amaretto kiss).
The decor is what you'd expect to find in a modern club with mix of pouffes and lounges scattered around the corners of the dancefloor and main bar. Regardless of your orientation, Cube provides a fun and hedonistic venue with a drinks selection straight out of Ab Fab.
