The Lighthouse
Editorial
Without doubt, the Lighthouse offers many options for entertainment. A student haunt on cheap nights, packed with locals on others, folks come for the drink specials, the views and the bistro food. Many locals can be found outside in the beer garden, just enjoying the odd gondola (this is rare) or flock of ducks on the waters of Lake Ginnindera, and supping a cold James Squire or a crisp white wine. With about half a dozen beers on tap - the aforementioned James Squire, VB, Carlton Draught, Stella, Beez Neez, Cascade plus more - you're bound to find something that appeals.
Likewise, the wine list is a suitable list of Australian drops with a few imports. Cocktails, too, get a good seeing to, with regular specials throughout the year offering more than enough choice for Hen's, Buck's or retirement nights (which is all we really do in Canberra - get married and retire). And with entertainment covering live bands and DJs from mid-week onwards, there's really only a few reasons to stay home - most of which we can't talk about here. It can only be said that the team at the Lighthouse really know how to party - ask them, and they won't hesitate to tell you.
