Brooklands Pub
Warton Rd (Cnr Holmes St), Southern River
Serving cocktails alongside beers this is a pretty spiffy local pub. You can have an average fling here with the tap beers which always put out. But, if you want to satisfy with something a bit more exotic then try one of the cocktails, which are slightly expensive, predictably spontaneous and always complicated. A relationship made in heaven!

Lynwood Arms Hotel

Lynwood Arms Hotel hosts some pretty impressive performances; from karoake to local bands. Particularly when a brave fool belts out the classic Funky Cold Medina. With so much talent, it's sometimes tough to distinguish between the amateur and the professional.

Last Drop Brewery
Lot 51, Lot 51 Nicholson Rd, Canning Vale
The Last Drop Pub & Brewery in Canning Vale is a curious old faux-Tudor building that includes a mighty big beer garden out back. With a small but perfectly formed range, the Last Drop brews a pilsner, dark lager and Bavarian-style wheat beer, as well as its own low alcohol effort not quite on site, but nearby at Bedfordale. Not too far to go then to get from source to your pint glass, and they stick to tried and tested, age-old traditions with nothing but water, malt and hops included. The menu is pretty faithful too, with a parmi, beef pie and assorted steaks as well as past and pizza. With regular live music the crowd's usually up for a good time.

Balmoral Tavern
901 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park
This pub has hand crafted beers. I'm not sure what that exactly means. Maybe it's beer that's carved from some kid of drinkable wood that we don't know about. Don't they say bark is edible? Or it could mean that the beers are poured by the hands of bar staff who are a bit crafty. Either way I'm sold.

Mount Henry Bar & Brasserie
27 Manning Rd, Como
Mount Henry Bar and Brassier is like an old woolen jumper, a little itchy, but reliably warm and comforting. The open wood fire makes for a cosy relaxant on a winter's night and the summer's are cooled with a generous pitcher of lager on the verandah. It's Little House on Prairie without the annoying children.
