Opened as a Botanic Garden in 1845, this site is now a major outdoor venue in Perth. The legendary Powderfinger played in 2010 to capacity crowds as part of their Sunsets' Farewell Tour. Music festivals such as Summadayze take place here, as do Perth's International Arts Festival events. Filled with history you'll also find the original Swan River wall and the Francis Burt Library.

Playhouse Theatre

The Playhouse Theatre opened in 1956 and has been home to several theatre companies. It is currently the home of the Perth Theatre Company. It seats 450 people and is also used for private functions. Regal Theatre

The Regal opened in 1938 as a cinema kicking off proceedings with 'Love Under Fire' - a war time romance set during the Spanish Civil War which was raging at the time. It wasn't until 1977 that the Regal became an 'actual' theatre. Nowadays it's Perth's most popular venue and a beautiful old haunt to watch some top class actors tread the boards.
