Editorial

The Road is based on the 2007 Pulitzer Prize winner novel by Cormac McCarthy ("No Country for Old Men").

A post-apocalyptic tale describing a journey taken by a father and his young son over a period of several months across a landscape blasted years before by an unnamed cataclysm that destroyed civilization and, seemingly, most life on earth.

This film has been on the distributors shelf for over a year. I saw a perfect pirated copy on dvd 6 months ago. It 's got to the stage where Hollywood has lost the art in how to release a film in the market place at the right time. THE ROAD has performed badly at the North American market because a lot of people would have seen this film ilegally, considering it's a year collecting dust in a Hollywood vault!

THE ROAD is a stunning realist vision of a post-apocalyptic future. It has elements of THE BICYCLE THIEF and other movies. My only problem was it's conventional ending. Regardless this film should stand the test of time. Avoid THE DENDY NEWTOWN Cinema. The last 4 films I've seen there have broken down. THE ROAD broke down on the opening credits and jumped 10 minutes into the film. Angry at missing the first 10 minutes I complained and the staff even refused to give me a complimentary ticket! Either Dendy Newtown has incompetent projectionist or outdated projectors. Avoid going to Dendy Newtown as the presentation of films breakdown on a regular basis. The scrooges at Dendy should have refunded my money once the film brokedown missing the first 10 minutes. Either get experienced projectionists or better projectors!!!!Avoid Dendy Newtown!!!!!!!!!

Complete and utter rubbish. After 40 years of reading science fiction, I can only say that NO one seems to get it right on the screen.
