Perth's Winter Arts Season is the perfect way to get out of the house in those cold months, and ignite the creative fires within. And what better way to stoke those fires than to go and see some fresh new dance from WAAPA?

For this year's Winter Arts Season, WAAPA is presenting Zilch, a collection of short dance pieces choreographed and performed by their dance students. It's a mixed bag of styles, themes and ideas, and promises to be inspiring, provocative, but above all, entertaining.

WAAPA's dance program is one of the most respected in Australia, with young hopefuls from across the country auditioning for a much-sought-after place in the program. Students combine ballet with contemporary dance, and learn about creative development, and bring it all together in these short pieces. Talent, choreography and themes that touch on current concerns and issues are all on show in these original dance works, created by the students themselves, from scratch. Performed at PICA in the city, this is a great chance to see some of Australia's up and coming dancers doing what they do best.
