When: 5 - 31 July, 2010
Where: Carriageworks, 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh
Tickets: Free entry (Ice Skating tickets: $12.50 - $16.50 + bf. Book here)
Experience the magic of a European winter at the inaugural Winterland festival this July. The latest hot spot for outings at Eveleigh in Sydney's inner west will be transformed to host the best of what our colder cousins have to offer.
Winterland caters for all interests and ages, promising a full day and night of activities. And the best news is that apart from a few ticketed events, the festival is free!
For the creative types, there will be arts, design and craft markets curated by The Finders Keepers and for the foodies, stalls with traditional winter warmers including roasted chestnuts, hot toddies and German bratwurst. Other winners are the rethreads clothing exchange, live local music and a Grease disco night.
Perhaps the most exciting feature of the festival however, is the huge ice skating rink that is open day and night. Kids and parents, lovers and friends can immerse themselves in this wonderful winter pastime very inexpensively (11am - 5pm: $12.50, 45 minute session plus skates / 6 - 10pm: $16.50, 45 minute session plus skates).
So rug up and bring your winter appetite and come to the coolest thing to hit Sydney this July!

A big waste of time. The 'arts, design and craft markets' and fab food stalls turned out to be a couple of people selling overpriced dolls and an old guy selling lollies
