Trilogy Tour

The Trilogy Tour brings together indie rock, electronic undertones and New Zealand imports for a showcase of new acts.

Editorial

What's better than one live band? How about three? As the name suggests, the Trilogy Tour brings together three of the country's best upcoming acts for a night of guitars, keyboards and indie pop. That's Dukes of Windsor, Trial Kennedy and Midnight Youth. The Dukes scored a surprise hit in 2007 when their song, The Others, was remixed by TV Rock. The electronic duo took the original track and turned into a club monster, one that spent nearly three months at the top of the charts. Since then, Dukes of Windsor have toured overseas, popped up at every festival you can think of and released a second LP, Minus.

Melbourne's Trial Kennedy released their debut album last year, New Manic Art. Produced by Nick Didia (whose previous credits include Powderfinger, the Stone Temple Pilots and Audioslave), the LP certainly made the local music industry stand up and take note. As for Midnight Youth, they're the latest New Zealand band to make their way over here and are already being compared to some of the greats.

If you're looking for a showcase of local indie acts, the Trilogy Tour has a fine cross-section performing - the electronic undertones of Dukes of Windsor, the indie swagger of Trial Kennedy and the New Zealand dark horse, Midnight Youth.
