Tori Amos is Abnormally Attracted to Sin - she also has a new album out and an accompanying tour.

Editorial

Tori Amos spearheaded the female singer/songwriter resurgence of the '90s. Hits like Cornflake Girl and Caught a Lite Sneeze helped sell Amos to the mainstream, while a series of remixes also took her music into the clubs. Most notably, Armand Van Helden's remix of Professional Widow, which topped dance music charts around the world.

While the accompanying albums all won critical praise, it's been the live shows that have cemented Amos's reputation. Whether performing solo on piano or backed by other musicians, her tours have kept the fans coming back for over a decade. 1992's Little Earthquakes Tour got the ball rolling and she's since been around the world on several occasions.

While the mid to late '90s saw Amos at her commercial peak, she's since become an indie favourite - walking that fine line between crossover success and cult favourite. Abnormally Attracted to Sin, her latest album, finds Amos veering towards the commercial-end of her singer/songwriter spectrum. The subject matter may be as idiosyncratic as usual, but the release is more accessible than some of her previous efforts this decade. It's also one of her more successful, debuting at number nine on the US charts. You can hear it live as Amos makes her way around the world in support.
