OK, so you're feeling a bit 'adults only' and have the right company and the lights turned down - but have you got the right soundtrack? Listen to this ...

Editorial

Lights … lingerie … action? Not quite. After slipping into something more comfortable, there's something else you need to get your 'special' evening underway: the right soundtrack. To help get you 'in the mood' we've come up with a Top 10 Sexy Songs list below. We're pretty confident about these tunes - they're sexy, not lovey-dovey and overloaded with 'deep and meaningful' mumbo jumbo that can break the spell. Do yourself a favour and download them, arrange them to suit, press play and … erm, enjoy your evening.

1. Let's Get it On: Marvin Gaye
This funked up 1973 track from an album of the same name confirmed Gaye as a sex icon - and for very good reason.
Best line: Whoo, let's get it on.

2. Come Said the Boy: Mondo Rock
A provocative 'his side/ her side' loss of virginity track from 1984, this song was actually banned on some radio stations. Oh how far we've come.
Best line: Let's go down on the sand, let's do what we wanna do - let me be a man for you.

3. I'm too Sexy: Right Said Fred
This lighthearted song on absurd levels of sexiness was a hit for Right Said Fred in several countries, including the USA. It's their only hit.
Best line: I'm too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt - so sexy it hurts.

4. You Sexy Thing: Hot Chocolate
Originally a B-Side and fairly racy for its day (1975), this song was a hit in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. There's just something about it.
Best line: Kiss me baby - you sexy thing.

5. Like a Virgin: Madonna
From the 1984 album of the same name, this single became Madonna's first Hot 100 hit. Rolling Stone also rate is at number 4 on their list of 100 Greatest Pop Songs. It's hot.
Best line: Like a virgin - touched for the very first time.

6. Slow: Kylie
Who ever would have thought that sweet Stock, Aitken and Waterman pop puppet Kylie Minogue would go on to openly revel in the sexual energy of a dance track?
Best line: Skip a beat and move with my body - yeah, slow.

7. I Want Your Sex: George Michael
This track is about as explicit as you get and was banned from various radio stations, while the clip (which featured implied nudity) could only be shown late at night. The track comes in several versions, including a 12-inch.
Best line: Don't you think it's time you had sex with me.

8. Physical: Olivia Newton-John
Sweet, angel-faced Olivia Newton-John donned a headband and leotard, got sweaty in a gym and blew the lid off Billboard's Top 100 with this provocative, hot 'n' heavy track.
Best line: There's nothing left to talk about - unless it's horizontally.

9. Dirrty: Christina Aguilera
Only Christina could make strutting around in red undies and chaps look quite as hot as she did for this song's video clip. Strangely, the song (released in 2002) didn't do that well in the charts.
Best line: Sweat until my clothes come off.

10. Closer: Nine Inch Nails
OK, the room's really getting hot now and Trent Reznor and Co tell it like it is in a very profane sort of way. This 1994 track is Nine Inch Nails' biggest hit to date.
Best line: I want to F*** you like an animal.
