Tokar Estate Christmas in July
Editorial
Mounds of powdery snow, glistening icicles precariously hanging above entry-ways and temperatures that drag thermometer centres below zero, are not a reality in Australia – at least not in Melbourne or its neighbouring surrounds. But you could be mistaken for thinking you’re in the midst of a traditional, European, winter if you happen to venture out to the Yarra Valley’s Tokar Estate on Saturday, 25 July.
Rather than complain about the cooling weather, and the chilly bite in the air, the Tokar Estate has embraced winter and is preparing to celebrate what residents of the northern hemisphere love most about the season – Christmas. So, half a year from when Santa actually “Ho-Ho-Ho-s” his way across the world, you can come and enjoy the festive season with all the trimmings – from plum pudding to Christmas carols and decorations. And with so much to distract you, you may not even notice that there’s no raging blizzard, no sleighs and no snow gripping the lovely vineyard landscape that will keep you company throughout your meal.
The Tokar Estate Christmas in July two-course lunch, with a glass of wine and tea/coffee, will cost you $45 per person.
