Glitter, beads, bangles, high-energy dance and vivid colours; all essential elements of the world's richest and most prolific film industry. The Merchants of Bollywood pays tribute to the cinema culture of India from its inception to the present day, honouring the country's greatest stars such as Ashwarya Rai and myriad of box office hits including Lagaan, Devdas, Dhoom and Bunty Aur Babli.

Loosely based on the story of a young girl and her grandfather's shared passion for dance, the show features 40 Indian performers, is choreographed by internationally renowned Vaibhavi Merchant and uses 3,800 lavish costumes and 2,000 pieces of jewellery. This is extravagance at its best, and encapsulates Bollywood perfectly.

The Merchants of Bollywood returns to Australia, having played to over 2 million people around the globe, a smash hit in every city on its tour. The Times in London commented, "Their energy is electrifying, their movements suffused with a rush of joy and yet ruthlessly precise and the frenetic flow of on-stage activity is almost non-stop." If you love the glamour, romance and rich art that is the quintessential Bollywood, this production is a must see.
