The Great Aussie Breakfast
Editorial
Aussies love breakfast. We do. It is not only the most important meal of the day, but somewhat of a culturally-defining tradition. So this Australia day honour this Aussie trait (and your appetite) by heading along to The Great Aussie Breakfast. Taking place after the Flag Raising and Citizenship Ceremony on Australia Day (Tuesday, 26 January for anyone not paying attention) at 9:30am, this event will unite locals and visitors with one of the favourite national pastimes – a breakfast barbecue.
The Great Aussie Breakfast is being provided by the Rotary Clubs of South Perth, however you are expected to bring a gold coin donation to get your sausage and cup of tea. Aside from brekkie goodness, your money will also buy you free entertainment which includes a very bouncy Tweety Bird jumping castle as well as and roving children’s performers (Billy the Bushranger and Gumnut Fairy). The Great Aussie Breakfast will take place at the Sir James Mitchell Park. Don’t sleep in or you’ll miss out – the snags will disappear at 10:30am! For more information please call (08) 9474 0777 or visit http://www.southperth.wa.gov.au/Events/2010/Australia-Day-2010.
