The Evolution of Incompetence

There's a new league of morons in town - but these ones are here to make you laugh.

Editorial

You know, John Malkovich was onto something when he waxed psycho about a "league of morons" in Burn After Reading. We all know who he's talking about because we see these people on a daily basis. People like Naomi Robson, or Jamie from Big Brother; the kinds of people who make you weep for humanity.

Writer Kieran King is obviously one man who's got a few more moronic stories than most up his sleeve, because he's felt the need to pen three and present them as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

The Evolution of Incompetence highlights the bad and the - well, even worse of these pillocks. Pithy, off-the-wall and absurd, this performance is a morass of mindlessness, yet a celebration of mediocrity. Vacuous by nature and completely random, it provides the audience with a whacky, interactive show that's performed to perfection with a host of accents and a diverse selection of bogans, dimwits and insensate characters. Sort of like a Liquorice Allsorts of idiots, if you will.

If your life has ever suffered at the hands of a complete moron, there's no doubt you'll enjoy these bite-size pieces of fun. Mmmmm, Comedy Festival. Tastes like good times.
