Editorial

Early reports from Laneway promised a female-studded 2012, and they weren’t kidding. The line-up includes EMA, Laura Marling, Glasser, Austra, Feist and Anna Cavi. Lest it be overshadowed by those fine ladies, the slate also includes such of-the-moment international stars as Girls, Toro Y Moi, Twin Shadow, SBTRKT, The Drums, Yuck, The Horrors and Wu Lyf. No wonder it’s co-sponsored by Pitchfork. Representing Australia, meanwhile, are Crayon Fields crooner Geoffrey O’Connor, post-punk firebrands Total Control, indie rock vets The Panics, Sydney beat-maker Jonti, and brash brats DZ Deathrays. Icing on the cake? Portugal the Man, Active Child, Pajama Club and M83.
