Simon and Garfunkel are touring Australia for the first time in 25 years, making their way around the country in June. Promoter Michael Chugg is certainly excited about the tour: "We're the first and only territory in the world that Simon and Garfunkel have confirmed concerts for. It's been 25 years since they've been here and I'd put money on the table that this will likely be the last".

The tour announcement comes after a performance by the pair in New York's Beacon Theatre back in February, their first in quite a while. While they enjoyed huge hits with Mrs Robinson, Bridge Over Troubled Water and The Sound of Silence, fans would also know that the duo haven't enjoyed the best personal relationship over the years. Though one of the most popular acts of the '60s, Simon & Garfunkel were constantly bickering, splitting up, getting back together and splitting up again.

Simon eventually went on to launch a successful solo career in the '80s, while Garfunkel enjoyed a more subdued post S & G life. Together, however, the two sold in excess of 40 million records and collected awards and honours galore, including five Grammy Awards and an induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame (1990).
