At first, this NSW pop-punk trio were all about ridiculous hair and combined with their skinny black jeans, they looked like three pre-pubescent Edward Scissorhands. But they've moved on from their social media-pimped 2009 debut Stack Is The New Black and taken on a more serious direction. The jeans are still as tight as ever, but their Welcome to Bat Country-era hair looks more like James Dean's; and their music has an almost Duran Duran-esque flavour.

Even their teenybopper fans have to grow up, sort of. Perhaps when the hysterical screaming dies down, we'll value Short Stack for being a surprisingly underrated Aussie engine of slick, catchy pop. But until then, let's all keep screaming.
