Short Stack: Stack Is The New Black Tour
Editorial
Short Stack can't be stopped. Having hypnotised a generation of pre-teen girls with their ridiculously big hair and make-up, they're making a concentrated effort for fame and glory. No one is more surprised by all this as the three teenagers from the central coast. Since winning the Channel [V] OZ Artist of the Year competition in 2008, the three-piece has signed a record deal, released three singles and toured with some of the world's biggest acts.
While their early success and sold-out shows were largely down to social network sites and word of mouth, a headline appearance on Rove changed all that. All of a sudden, Shaun Diviney, Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb found their glam rock shtick projected to a million couch potatoes. The results may have been polarising, but they also helped turn the band from underground sensation into one of the country's most sought-after acts.
With three successful singles under their belt ( Shimmy a Go Go, Princess and Sway, Sway Baby!), the group have now followed through with a debut album, Stack is the New Black. Despite the name, the album has been received well, both in retail and critically, seeing them back out on the road for their third national tour in the last year.
