From blacksmithing classes and the Young Rural Ambassador's Award, through to the Barista competition and a live appearance by Bananas in Pyjamas, the Royal Adelaide Show combines the best elements of city and country life into a vibrant and colourful patchwork whole.
This year, the Royal Adelaide Show hosts a new two-star equestrian challenge, featuring dressage, cross-country and showjumping, with the demanding cross-country course designed by internationally acclaimed South Australian course designer, Wayne Copping. Also new in 2010 is an exciting new Show initiative designed to educate the public on the importance of agriculture. Thank a Farmer will highlight everyday objects that we wouldn't have if it wasn't for farmers - think desks, clothing, food, even footballs!
Then there are all the traditional Show events you know and love, from heart-pounding carnival rides to the soothing surrounds of the baby animal petting zoo, as well as the woodcutting championship, sand sculptures - including a workshop for children - food of every variety, from CWA scones through to the best South Australian gourmet treats, and of course, showbags!
The Royal Adelaide Show - what's not to love?
