Ride To Work Day Breakfast
Editorial
You and your powerful thighs already know that there’s a couple of prominent Ride to Work Days on the national calendar. There’s the international spin in June and then the high-speed hootenanny for local cyclists coming up on October 12. While the good men and women of the fixie aim to ride to work all the time, two days make for a good start.
In Australia, we tend to observe our Spring event with a little more gusto. With thawed hands and renewed love of the road, it’s much easier to get on the bike. And, a free breakfast makes it that little bit more tempting.
If your sustainability sensibility is in high-gear, it’s important to register for Ride to Work. A greater number of riders means a bolder case for improving urban bike facilities. And, this action also translates to a better chance at a free brekky.
Last year, all the capitals organised a morning meal of complex carbs for riders. At the time of writing in 2011, though, only Sydney and Melbourne are on track to feed the fearless on October 12. Cyclists nationwide, though should keep their browsers pointed to the pedal portal for updates.
Cyclists require a gram around a gram of carbohydrate for every minute they ride. Take this opportunity to fill up freely!
